Sticks of Fire: The Turning Point

Five former high school and college basketball stars—defeated by drugs and alcohol—find one another at an inner city halfway house in Tampa. Can fate restore their faith and skill, catapulting them into a match with destiny and a chance at redemption?

Sticks of Fire: The Turning Point tells Orlando and the Thunderbolts basketball team's story. Five years after the death of his wife and unborn child, Orlando is a destitute alcoholic, denying he needs help. Short on job offers, he reluctantly takes a job at the Lighthouse Inn, a recovery halfway house, unaware his life is about to change.

The Tumi is a decorated knife, some of which bore the likeness of the Sican Deity, believed by Sicans to rule the supernatural world. The Deity was omnipotent, controlling the celestial powers to breed life and provide earthly abundance. Today, the Tumi represents good luck and is hung on many homes throughout Peru and Latin America.

The Sican culture predated the Inca in what is now the north coast of Peru between about 800-1300 AD. Known for their skills in metallurgy, they produced alloys of gold, silver and arsenic-copper in unprecedented scales in pre-Hispanic America.
